A working breakfast has taken place between CIOnet, the professional social network for IT managers and Instituto Empresa, IE, an important business school, as part of a wider collaboration agreement between them and in which CIO of large Spanish companies have analysed market trends in order to provide input for the Executive Master en Dirección de Sistemas de Información of IE (ExMSDI) about what are organizations and professionals demanding as regarding IT
CIOnet has a great platform from which to read what’s in the mind of CIO of medium and large companies. One of the recurring questions in forums and meetings is the need to widen their training to include non-technical skills in order to take into account the relevance of IT in business and to provide those managers with the skill set necessary to become a driving factor in achieving the goals of their organizations.
So, for Mona Biegstraaten, Managing Director of CIOnet in Spain and Latin America ‘our collaboration with IE has shown that their excellent program Executive Master en Dirección de Sistemas de Información, is at the leading edge in high end teaching in the sector’. Besides, she adds, ‘with this sharing of views we’ll help putting forward the role of CIO and their strategic participation in their organizations’.
For Silvia Leal, Academic Director of the Master, ‘our alliance with CIOnet, and their collaboration incorporating the latest technological trends, thanks to the knowledge and experience of their well-known members, is a wonderful means to add value to the program, whose goals are placing TIC as drivers of innovation in business, and advocating the presence of CIO as members of the Director’s Board’
