Paul Danneels is CIO at VDAB. He will evoke his own experience with Big Data & advanced analytics. Via vdab.be and an in-memory database, over 210,000 jobseekers are matched online with 40,000 jobs. Within milliseconds, lists of profiles must come out on a number of criteria.VDAB also pilots around open data and unstructured data and runs, with the University of Leuven, a research on the combination of online and offline data.
Klaas Bosteels is Lead Data Scientist at Massive Media, the social media company behind Netlog.com and Twoo.com. After working with the information retrieval team at Last.fm, Klaas joined Massive Media to conceive, build and lead a brand new team around big data & data science. In doing so, he developed a pretty clear perspective on how to introduce big data within a company and create added value from it.
